First-Aid – It’s Important

first-aid-lettersFirst-aid in industry is the immediate, necessary, emergency given in case of injury or illness that occurs during working hours. In many cases first-aid immediately following an injury is sufficient. In other instances prompt treatment by a prompt treatment by a physician is necessary.

If you are severely injured, you must receive attention immediately. If you have a minor injury such as a slight cut, scratch, or burn prompt care is equally important; yet, nothing may be done about . You may want to ignore these minor injuries because you think they are unimportant. That's when the trouble starts. Small cuts, jabs and scratches are easily infected if they aren't cared for properly. The way to keep minor injuries minor is to get first-aid right away. Always go to the third floor of the Health Care Center and fill an Employee Injury Report. If the injury is severe enough then we will send you to MBI to get treatment but often all that is required is simple first-aid.

The body is exposed to countless germs that are harmless as long as they stay on the surface of the skin. If the skin is broken, the barrier is down and germs swarm into the opening to multiply and infect the whole system. Once infection develops, it can spread rapidly, causing severe pain, sometimes permanent disability, and even death. That is why it is so important not to neglect small injuries.

Avoid infection by getting first-aid immediately for every injury from the staff on the third floor of the Health Care Center.
