Coming Soon! The Third Annual LifeLong Learners Film Festival!

Our Third Annual is right around the corner! again offers an entertaining, cool break from the dreaded “dog days” of August.

Join us in the Life Center on Friday, August 16th and Saturday, August 17th to enjoy two FREE films each day together with ample popcorn. Both morning films will begin at 9:30AM.  Afternoon film showings begin at 1:00PM. 

Arlyn Brewster and Jessica Meyer return for the third year to introduce the morning movies and later lead discussions which focus on this year's theme: “Triumph Over Challenge.”

By attending all four movies, you enjoy four chances to win a $25 Harkins Theater Gift card. Drawings take place at the conclusion of each of the four movies.

You're Invited! Join us for lunch and “beat the heat!” At noon, remain in the cool Life Center and enjoy an optional luncheon. IN ADVANCE, please use your B-card or cash at the Bistro to purchase tickets for each day's luncheon buffet. Daily luncheon tickets are $6.50 per person, per meal.

Friday at 9:30AM – Hidden Figures: PG-13 (Oscar nominees  Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Kevin Costner.) The true story of three African American female math whizzes who launch NASA's U.S. space program.

Friday at 1:00PM – The Book Thief: PG-13 (Acclaimed Sophie Nélisse, Geoffrey Rush, and Emily Watson.) In Germany during World War II a young girl finds solace by stealing books and sharing them with others. Her adoptive parents protect a Jewish refugee.

Saturday at 9:30AM – The Green Book: PG-13  (Oscar Winner Mahershala Ali, Viggo Mortensen, and Linda Cardellini.) An Italian American and an African American pianist reverse roles during a music tour of the segregated South.

Saturday at 1:00PM – The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel: PG-13 (Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, and Maggie Smith). Seeking an inexpensive retirement in India, British retirees overcome their disappointment when the Marigold Hotel is not as advertised. They find that life and love can begin again when they let go of their pasts.
