Beatitudes Community

Resident Assistance Fund

How I to the stories of the residents at Beatitudes Campus. You have such extraordinary character and you are what makes our community a good place in which to live and work. Your remarkable and unique life stories inspire me. You have thrived despite significant hardships and you have triumphed throughout your life. You have a strong work ethic, you focused on achieving goals and squirreling away every dollar you could despite growing up in a time of economic uncertainty, you have strong values and appreciation for living each day, and you are true social reformers. You inspire me to live the best life I can. You are what propels the Beatitudes Foundation to work so hard to secure funds and resources for your future at the campus. We are honored to work passionately on your behalf.

I'd like to share with you one profound reality in the lives of you or your neighbors living here at Beatitudes Campus. Even though you saved every dollar you could, you may never have imagined that you could face financial adversity by outliving the very resources you worked so hard to earn and save. You did all the right things and perhaps through a setback, a decline in your investments, loss of and support networks or living to the age of 95 instead of 85, you could be facing the reality that you may need financial support in order to continue to live here.

And that's where the Beatitudes Campus Foundation can .

Every year, one of the foundation's major initiatives is to raise funds for the Resident Assistance Fund (RAF). Through RAF, the foundation can help our residents who need a little assistance to cover part of their housing and living costs. Whether you have a one-time expense or need monthly assistance, the Resident Assistance Fund can provide support in the form of a scholarship to qualified residents so they can continue to live and thrive at Beatitudes Campus. RAF is funded solely through charitable contributions to the Beatitudes Campus Foundation and overseen by a RAF Committee.

Raising money for the Resident Assistance Fund for us is a privilege, and we do in many ways. You probably know that the proceeds of our annual fundraising gala, Power of the Purse, are directed to RAF as a priority, to make sure that RAF is fully funded and able to help our residents who need a boost. This year, Power of the Purse set records in terms of money raised. Our Power of the Purse community and guests who attend want to support you and they are especially eager to support RAF. Many of you invest in the Resident Assistance Fund during our fundraising appeals. Resident groups around the campus have found creative ways to raise funds for RAF. The Wednesday Hootenanny group, The Beaded Lizards, donates all the money in their tip jar to RAF – so far, they have donated nearly $25,000! Several of the bridge groups donate regularly to RAF. The Beatitudes Auxiliary has been a long-time contributor to RAF and have given in excess of $70,000. Many tribute and memorial gifts are directed to the Resident Assistance Fund. Did you know that employees also give to RAF through payroll deduction? One hundred percent of the campus and foundation Boards of Directors as well as the campus team and the foundation staff have invested in RAF. We are so grateful for the compassion and enthusiasm from our community and our partners.

If you want to know more about the Resident Assistance Fund – whether you or someone you know might benefit from the fund, or if you want to invest in the fund, I encourage you to give me a call to chat (x16136). I'm more than pleased to talk with you.
