Beatitudes Community

State of the Campus – Oct. 9

We have heard a lot about contact tracing in the last week. What is it? Why is it done? Does conduct its own contact tracing?

Contact tracing is the process of identifying and notifying people who have been exposed to a person diagnosed with COVID-19 for more than 15 minutes and within six feet or less. The goal is to let people know about this exposure so they can monitor themselves for and self-quarantine. Quarantining is important so that if a person does become infected, they will not expose the virus to other people. When done properly, contact tracing can be very helpful to prevent ongoing transmission in the community.

Beatitudes Campus conducts its own contact tracing immediately after receiving news that a , staff or contractor tests positive for COVID-19. We work in conjunction with the Maricopa County Department of Public Health. Cheryl Knupp, senior vice president of health services, human resources and risk management, heads up the efforts and she works with the leadership in each area.

On Tuesday, Beatitudes Campus conducted another all-staff testing with 361 staff and contractors tested. We are pleased to report that all tests came negative. However, an Independent resident who lives in Central Park West has received a positive COVID-19 test. This resident is asymptomatic and quarantining at home.

We are pleased to announce that for our Independent Living residents, families will be able to directly deliver their packages to their family members' apartments, starting Monday, October 12. People will need to complete a visitor attestation form and present it at the Guard House prior to admittance onto campus. You can find the form on our website under Visitor Guidelines and Forms (https://beatitudescampus.org/beatitudes-family/). We that making deliveries directly will be easier for families, residents and staff. Please note that delivering packages does not count as a family visit.

Thank you for supporting Beatitudes Campus and your loved ones during this pandemic. If you have any comments or questions, please reach out to [email protected], and we will respond back to you.

Thank you for putting your trust in Beatitudes Campus. We hope that you stay safe and healthy.
