Employee Satisfaction and Alternate Travel Surveys

It is the time of year that we need to accomplish two important projects.  I realize these come on the heels of a very robust open enrollment season, but I promise after the surveys touched on below – HR will leave you alone for a while!

The end of September each year represents the end of a fiscal year and also the end of a WIG year.  As most of you will recall from department projects, Team Talk articles, and All Staff meetings, one of the Campus’ overarching WIGs centered around Employee Satisfaction.  As a baseline, we used the Holleran independent company’s results from spring of 2015 and had well over 80% participation by staff in that survey.  To check our progress at a midway point, we asked staff to complete an online survey on Campus in February 2016 using Survey Monkey and had around 60% participation.  We are now at the point where we want to do a final survey so that we know if we achieved the employee satisfaction goal of increasing from 83.3 to 85.1 (side note, as of February 2016, we had already increased to 85.22 – so anything beyond will be spectacular!).  There are some additional satisfaction questions in the survey that we would like to ask you to answer.  The whole survey should take 5-7 minutes.

The other project that always needs to occur in the fall, is the Alternate Travel Survey.  It is a survey that is required by Maricopa County for all employers with over 50 employees to complete each year.  Like any government or regulatory body, our failure to participate with gusto will lead to nasty letters and monetary fines.  Depending on how fast you click, this survey will take you 60 seconds to 5 minutes (no real typing involved!).  There is also an option to click on Spanish before you start.

So here’s what we need:

  • More than 70% (ideally 80% or better) to participate! Currently only 38% of you have completed it.
  • I.T. will put the links to the surveys on your desktops or the links are below.
  • For employees that would like computer assistance, HR will again be hosting several sessions in the Resident Computer Lab on the east side of the Central Park West building to assist staff.
  • The schedule can be found in the Managers and Supervisors folder on the P drive if Managers want to formally schedule their staff and posted at time clocks.
  • Both surveys must be completed by ALL campus employees between the time period of 9/14/16 and 9/27/16 so there is only 7 days left!

We’ll also be raffling off a few Target Gift Cards at the end of the surveys to thank you for taking time on these important projects – so please let Kim Martin in HR know when you’re done.  She can be reached at Extension 16191 or [email protected].

Employee Online Survey Winners and Recap

Thank you to those of you that completed the recent Employee Online Satisfaction and Benefits survey!  230 of 425 staff members (54%) participated in the short survey.  Of the 230 respondents, we had 61% of eligible full-time staff respond and 37% of eligible part-time staff respond, so we were shy of the 85% participation goal, but still had pretty good response overall for this first attempt at our own internal survey.

As a thank you for your time, all participants that let us know they completed the survey were entered into a raffle for exciting prizes.  Please be sure the following winners come to HR at their earliest convenience to claim their prize:

  • Constantin Iovite (Dining) – $50 Target Gift Card
  • Tyra Mirabal (Housekeeping) – $50 Target Gift Card
  • Mahree Morin (Marketing) – Box of Cerreta’s Gourmet Chocolates

Specific details from the survey will be shared at the March All Staff Meeting.  Save the date – March 24th at 2:30PM in the Life Center!
