Beatitudes Community

A Fond Farewell to Becky Black

Becky Black, Director of Sales

A little better than sixteen years ago, a wonderful daughter brought her mother to Beatitudes Campus to check out the possibility of her living at our retirement community. After a good deal of comparison, thought and consideration, that mother and daughter collectively decided that Beatitudes was indeed the right setting, one that seemed to offer what they were seeking for a purposeful future.

I am certain that quite a number of you reading this article may know one of the folks in that recollection. That daughter and mother duo was Becky Black and her mother, Zoe, who went on to live on campus for more than eleven years.

But let’s pick back up on the beginning of the story. After making the decision to move her mother from the northwest part of the country, that daughter came back and inquired about a job at the campus. Lo and behold, a match was made, and Becky started in the marketing department in sales. And thus, began a substantial and successful Beatitudes career for Becky Black, culminating in her role as Director of Sales.

As I recounted recently, after these number of years involving three new development projects (original Promenade now known as Central Park, the Patio Home Phase II project of 2019, and the current Promenade Residences project) in addition all of the current campus residences to be considered, Becky has literally touched thousands of lives and many of them are those reading this article. Her strong determination to find the best senior living solutions has been superseded only by her kind and caring spirit set on truly helping the many seniors who have come to her for guidance through what can often be a complex set of considerations.

Becky, I know that I speak for your sales team and the entire campus when I say that it has been absolutely great working with you—your work truly made a lasting impact, and one that has changed the campus for the better in so many ways. I have always appreciated how you were readily available to lend an ear when complex considerations arose on the path to residency and help solve any problem and that you have done so with grace, humor and caring.

I asked a group today that was meeting on campus if one can be happy and sad at the same time—and after a little thought, just about everyone responded that it was possible. So that’s me—I was thinking of this very time – the retirement of a very valued member of the team—truly an ache to see you go and yet a true joy to celebrate your retirement and this new beginning for you and Bob!

Becky’s last day will be on September 2nd, and I know if you want to send her a card or note, we certainly won’t turn it away. Becky, we will miss you very much, but the team and I wish you the very best in retirement and the travels that you have planned. From the bottom of our hearts – thanks for everything and to you we say no goodbyes, but rather “arrivederci!”
