It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that we lost one of our own last week, Melissa Buljubasic. Melissa was a server in plaza view Assisted Living dining room for the last two years. She worked with us through her high school years and post-graduation. Melissa died, unfortunately, in an automobile accident last Monday night, which also took the life of our former employee, Adnan Hedzic. Melissa also worked in Buckwald's and assisted with caterings while Adnan worked with the Health Care Center, Buckwald's and catering teams. We are all very saddened. We will miss their contagious personalities and the care with which they served our residents. Their loss is felt across the entire dining services department and beyond.
Also involved in the accident were two other servers in our dining services department. While one is still hospitalized, the other is home and now healing from her injuries. However, the emotional toll on the two of them, and all of those close to them, will be a long journey to healing.
Your support and love of the dining services team is very much appreciated and exemplifies the beautiful caring spirit of our community. Of course, this is not a time to seek out details, rather a time to show our support for those we know are hurting. Thank you for your presence, care and patience, as they work through this tragic loss. That is the greatest gift to be shared at this time.
Sincerely,
Michelle Just,
President & CEO
