Shout Out to Adrielle Johnson

Adrielle Johnson, Plaza View, Team Member since February 2016

Adrielle Johnson, Plaza View, Team Member since February 2016

It always wonderful to start the week off with a dose of awesomeness.  Read on to hear what one Plaza View resident had to say about a caregiver that’s about to complete her first three months here at the Campus…

To Whom It May Concern: The caregiver, Adrielle Johnson is a rare treasure in the staff at Plaza View !  She is a consummate worker among the staff entrusted with the welfare of the residents.  She is the bearer of a high standard of work ethics.  Adrielle does not skip tasks or do half-hearted jobs.  She is efficient and reliable.  The residents are serene in the expectation of the shift is in capable hands when Adrielle is on duty.  Nothing that comes her way ruffles her demeanor.  Quietly but masterfully she takes care of all matters in her care.  Adrielle inspires tranquility where e’er she works !  We here are very fortunate to have Adrielle with us.  Even her colleagues are impressed by her skills.  What was heartening was that she came to us already with these qualifications and never went through that “newbie” stage.  She is a treasure for sure and we are fortunate to have her with us!

Great work, Adrielle!

Shoutout – Tamara Price and George Klink

Tamara Price (HCC) and George Klink (HCC) both received shout outs from Diane Hochsteller, a family member of a resident here, after a recent visit to the Health Care Center. They were said to be patient and thorough, kind and professional. They always had time to answer questions and never made the family feel they were being rushed. Great job showing off the compassion we love and train here at the Campus.

Assisted living staff want to give a shout out to Andreus “Dre” Caldwell (Dining Services), a member of the Bistro culinary team.

“Dre always get the orders correct and if we ask him to add his personal twist to the menu items (which always makes them taste better), he does it quickly and with a smile.  HE ROCKS!!!”

What are you cooking with back there, Dre? Good ol’ fashion Campus love and hospitality? That’s what it sounds like to us.  Great work – thank you!

Shout out coming to Angela Magierka (Early Memory Support)! Angela originally came to the campus as a home companion and then moved to a full-time position with our EMS team on the Virginia G. Piper Residences. One of her managers recently remarked,

“She is always ready and willing to help by picking up shifts whenever she is needed.  And to top it off, she goes out of her way to do a great job!”

These are the kinds of notes we love to see!  Thank you, Angela, for being there for our residents and your fellow team members.  You rock!

Shout Out – Jennifer Perkins

Jennifer Perkins, Laundry, Team Member since August 2015

Jennifer Perkins, Laundry, Team Member since August 2015

We recently received a lovely letter from a Plaza View resident regarding our Laundry Team and specifically highlighting Jennifer Perkins who has worked not once, but now twice for Beatitudes Campus.  The letter follows here.

You’ve perhaps heard the saying “Attitude is everything” and the Beatitudes has an employee who mirrors this axiom!  Jennifer Perkins in the Laundry Service is a bundle of positivity coupled with enthusiasm.  She models so many traits in her work that make her an exemplary employee on the team.

Jennifer interacts so well with the residents as well as with her colleagues.  Big smile, cheerful conversation plus obvious pride in her work is what you encounter in Jennifer.  (The “Laundry Ladies” have a long-standing reputation for being a merry bunch.  Jennifer is one of the major contributors to this atmosphere!)

Jennifer has a strong work ethic.  When she returns my finished wash load she breezes into my apartment, slides open the closet door and hangs the fresh clothes that were scooped up dirty that very morning.  Nary a sock nor pillow case is missing!  A job consistently well done.

Attitudes are contagious here at the Beatitudes.  My laundry experience is brighter (no pun intended) with Jennifer and her coworkers combined.  Thank you for your successful efforts!

Jennifer, thank you for always putting a smile on residents’ faces when you are out and about – it definitely makes their day!

Several departments chip in and cover breaks for the Welcome Center staff and it works well, but occasionally there is a snafu.  Never fear, another team member was here.  “Just want to give a shout out to Deanna Thellmann (BAH) who  covered my lunch break when the usual person was not available due to an emergency.  Thank you!!”  – Karolyn Conlow, Administration

Ashley Hernandez, EMS, Team Member since October 2014

Ashley Hernandez, EMS, Team Member since October 2014

It’s not every day that an administrator receives a glowing letter like this one.  Take a moment to read this letter from a resident family member…it will brighten your day and it is chock full of shout outs for staff across Campus!

“Dear Jeff,

I just wanted to take a moment to make note in honor of the good work I see Ashley (Hernandez, EMS) doing in her new position on the second floor of the Care Center.  She always seems to have a genuine interest in the care of others, especially the residents. She finds ways to encourage them, and is quite tender with addressing them when attempting to meet their individual needs. She seems eager to do her job and when I have a need for my mom, she seems ready to always seek to find an answer. I think it’s important to recognize the efforts of others especially in the Care industry where the rewards are not so much monetary, but more the reward of loving and helping others. She certainly does have the gift of helps.

I also want to take a moment to make an overall comment about all of those on the second floor in Caring for my mom, and also on the fourth floor with my aunt. I’ve been treated with great respect, as I believe are all the residents.  It takes great patience to work in your industry.  I can’t speak for every person working at the Care Center, but when I am there, and believe me,  I am there daily, I experience and watch the great care they all take for Beatitudes’ residents. I wish I could mention all of their names because they all for the most part, are great. I truly very much appreciate each one of them and trust them with my moms care.

Thanks Jeff (Calvert, AL/EMS) for all you do, obviously your leadership is the glue that is bringing success to the Care Center.

On a separate note I would like to mention that Plaza View also has always been appreciated with the staff there. Yes, there are new people all the time coming and going but to still see many of the same staff remaining says a lot about leadership. Particularly I want to mention the dining room and the leadership there with Suzanne (Lewis, Dining) and Jennifer (Yazzie, Dining). Can’t say enough about each of them.  I watch Suzanne and how she handles the individual personalities of the residents and their quirks…she does a fantastic job!  Lots of attitudes to manage and handle, and to do so delicately.  Long time staffer, Adam (Parish, Dining) and the many many people there working. We always feel welcome to join them for lunch or dinner from time to time and mom is so happy when she sees her old friends. I just wanted to give you an update on the great job I think you are all doing.  We are grateful for the home that you have made for my aunt and my mom.

God bless you and your future endeavors as you continue to bless others in your leadership role.

Most Sincerely,

Faith”

Shout Out: Felicia Gay, Sarina Clifton & Michelle Curley

I discovered half-way through the day-shift that the nursing staff was working short. You would never have known as these three terrific women (Felicia Gay, Sarina Clifton, and Michelle Curley) worked effortlessly to care for the residents of Sierra Springs on a very busy weekday. They never complained once and until it was pointed out it was never obvious they were working short staffed. This is a prime example of effective teamwork and caring for the residents regardless of the obstacle ahead. The residents, the neighborhood, and your peers all thank you for making today work. You are all AWESOME and APPRECIATED! — Sarah Ramias

Kathy was always available for any questions and/or helping my kids make the move as quickly and efficient as possible.  (Moving is not easy for a 94 year old!!)  I was told that she and Gabi made the bags of trash disappear so that the Back Street people could collect their stuff. THANKS AGAIN. — Mary Stephenson
